First of all, this is the second time i've interviewed you, the first time, was around the start of last year.. So, has your name, sex or occupation changed at all?

Kelthar:
Not what i know really. i'm not into changing sex that much nowadays. maby that'll happen in the future, but i doubt it. Still in school.

Dangermouse:
So where abouts do you live?

Kelthar:
In limhamn/malmoe/sweden... malmoe is the town ... limhamn is the part

Ahh.. cool.. Are there many babes in sweden, or is that just a stereotype which should be true?

Kelthar:
Yeah there are quite alot, but i don't think we have to many of them. I don't think we're above average =)

Ok, so as I understand it, you were one of the founding members of the European art group Shade?

Kelthar:
Yeah. that's was quite a while ago. the best scene-time i've had.

Dangermouse:
Yeah, around what year?

Kelthar:
hmmmm. it was founded the 17th of june '96.

Dangermouse:
Cool, what would you say were your best memories of Shade?

Kelthar:
Hmmm. i guess it was the good respone from the art-scene. We became known very fast and wide in a very short period of time. but the absolutely best thing was to draw together. Me, dfuse and phlare. Going home to each other and checking out the latest art we've done. getting together on nights. like drawing-nights. It was pretty unorganized all the way thru. shade that is.

Dangermouse:
Heh.. A 'local' group with an international reputation..

Kelthar:
It was local. the founders/leaders =) ... we got alot of swedes in it. mostly. There was alot of good swedish drawers and there still are.

Dangermouse:
Yeh, I see there are still a few local groups in sweden these days too?

Kelthar:
I don't really know. i see all kind of new groups poping up and dying all the time. it's pretty hard to remember everything that's happening in the art-scene. or more the ascii-scene nowadays. But there will always be alot of local groups i guess. some make it. most of them don't.

Dangermouse:
Speaking of dying, How did Shade die in the end? I understand dfuse and phlare just called and quits? Any reasons?

Kelthar:
They said they got tired of shade. it wasn't fun anymore. i still liked shade, but i wasn't the same as in the beginning. i have to agree on their opinions. it came as a shock to me really. they canceled the group without notifying me. Yeah. But i admit they were running the group. i wasn't really a leader or what you could call it.

Dangermouse:
Heh.. Shit.. Around what time did you enter the scene anyways btw?

Kelthar:
Hmmm. i think i got my first modem when i was somewhere around 12.. 6-7 years ago.

Dangermouse:
So, before Shade then, what did you get up to?

Kelthar:
Been cosysop on juarez board. one specific that a friend had that was called overdoze. we put alot of work into that one. Been in og syndicate and stuff like that. (they became cb4 but i didn't come along. then cb4 merged with rebels)..

Dangermouse:
How did you get into drawing ANSI?

Kelthar:
Hmmm. that started kind of early. i started drawing a long time ago. i didn't do anything serious then. It looked like shit but alot of ppl liked it =) Maybe 5 years ago. if i would have drawn serious for 5 years i would have been alot better then what i am today. But i have my drawing periods. havn't had one for a while tho =).

Dangermouse:
So were there any groups before Shade or?

Kelthar:
No. just og syndicate. i drawed for them. for jaurez boards in russia and so on.

Dangermouse:
So after Shade, what did you get up to? Any groups or projects that you are/were involved in?

Kelthar:
I applied to some group i think. i can't recall much of it tho. i had made alot of enemies when i was in shade. it's my attitude =). I don't remember if i joined any group or was accepted. i think i did but i can't recall which one.

Dangermouse:

stuff like that. since i got millions of msg's back then.. it was fun to respond in the start. but you get tired of all the "lamers" bugging you.

So, did you get into any groups? Odelay rings a bell for some reason.

Kelthar:
Yes. i was invited to odelay i belive. that happens alot these that what i've heard. i liked odelay alot. odelay died what i can recall. I don't like going from one group to another. i like to stick to one and always stick with it nomatter how bad it is.

Dangermouse:
Tell me about Agony? Why did you develop it? Bored? :)

Kelthar:
I was in aluminum. but as you know it died. i loved aluminum. I used a script called acid-irc. you know =). i wanted to make my own.

I scripted alot in the start when i learned to script. now i don't script hardly at all. i have anew version tho. but i'm not releasing it. =)

Dangermouse:
Haha.. Keep it to yourself then :) we don't care :)

One thing i like is that like alot of ppl know of "kelthar" nowadays. mostly swedish i belive =) yes =) haha. there's ppl coming and asking for the new version alot tho =)

Umm, so how is life? Any girls? etc?

Kelthar:
There's always a gurl in my life =). i'm together with someone named louise. i love her alot. more than alot. She's on irc too. but that's not the way i mett her =)

Dangermouse:
Sure man, i bet you met her online :) Yeah, haha.. marriage? babies on the way? :)

Kelthar:
heh. nope. i'm a father tho. in case you didn't know.

You are? Man, i didn't know.. Girl or a boy?

Boy. i got into a big fight with my girl (who has the kid) and she told me to fuck off.

Oh.. Sorry to here it.. How old is the child?

Kelthar:
About 1 month now, almost

It's really fucked. but i am lucky to have louise. she helps me get thru it.

Heh.. I have to admit, it's not the most ideal situation, but things could be worse..

The thing is that my kid is in the us. i'm in sweden.

No shit.. So you've only been back in sweden for how long how? And why were you in America of all places? :) (no offense 90% of the scene :>)

Well. i've been back for 8-9 months.. Why i was there i preffer not to discuss =) ... so fucking cheezy

Oooh. Drugs, raves. there's a big subject =)

haha.. If raves means the same thing it does in OZ -- TECHZNO?

Kelthar:
I love raves. the drugs sometimes comes along. If it's a big event i'll drop a roll. Techzno?`is that a joke? =)

Dangermouse:
So, explain what happens at a rave.. For the ignorant amoung us

Kelthar:
Heh. like ... we go there two hours after it has started dropping a roll 1.5 hours before, so we're fucked up when we arrive.. Then you just becomes one with the music for 8 hours. dancing yer ass off. drinking heaps of water. sweating it all out. I've never had a piss on a rave =).

Dangermouse:
Haha.. it must be some sort of record..

Kelthar:
Not really. you never piss since everything comes out when you sweat. If you don't drink enuf you get dehydrated fast. it's the methamphetamine in extacy that makes the water pass thru the body so fast.
