talking with mel farr, interview by oxidizer

ok.. this is my first interview so it kinda sux.. the fact that i was really lagged and that i got kicked off the computer after we started didnt help eitherbut here is the interview i did with mel farr suppastar, blender world champion and coloured oldschool ascii god. the lags make it kinda confusing at times but try to read on anyway and you'll get what its on about..

<mel_farr> ok, i started in january of 1996 because two of my friends, emperor palpatine and rink rat, were in the scene. my first boards were safari (20 node pd board) and taken from above (0-30day but actually got 0-90 day board)..anyways...i kinda hung around in the local wannabe 5 year warez scene until the faithful day i discovered an npc pack. this npc pack was a year or two old and had a member board list of like 40 boards. i was in awe of npc el33t

<mel_farr> well see i wa sin project 301 having a blast..but it died because noone but me and samurai contributed, and as such i applied to blade. but exar was drunk so he turned me down (bastard). but i was friends with mindcrime. so i told him and he said "d0H!" so then belial said "why don't you join blade as lit but then do ascii. thats what i do"..so i was like "yea"..so cappachino put me in the lit division but i actually draw ascii.

<oxidizer> abstract is just shit that wouldnt be released if it was supposed to be normal.. someone just takes a piece of shit, distorts it like hell and says its an new form of art.. bah.. that sucks..
<mel_farr> my thoughts exactly. unfortunately many people disagree with you. this is because people enjoy torchureing each other. artists compete to see who can turn out the ugliest piece. thats why dieznyik has so much respect. he's been making ansis look ugly since the days of dolemite. although then he makes the best emags of all time, so it's hard to dislike him. of course, TGAOW couldn't compare to anything...

<mel_farr> drop is a group that i founded because i was bored one night and i was drunk and it was a mistake..but now i have like 15 artists ranging from mildly below average to pretty good, we may just do okay. nPG-13 on the other hand already owns the scene. we are an 3l33t clan of hackers who are right now amnuvering through the depths of irc taking things over..
