Ok, sounds good! so how long have you been in the scene now?

I started drawing in october 95.. but didn't start releasing till january 96... that was the official release of purg-01

Purg started out as a modding group with some art locally in 219... it was the first modding group in 219.. then we switched over to art... cuz modding started to get lame... and everyone had mods for everything already

And now?

Now we do just about everything but modding ;][

Thats good. So what is your connection to the scene besides purg?

Tee are
Thats basically it really... purg just tries to help new artists get in the scene. We have had about 150 total artists since our first release

Well, from what i understand, now one respects you guys.

Yeah basically.. our work isn't like mimic or avenge or ice quality so everyone thinks we suck i guess

Why is that?

Idon't really care too much... i just like to draw and that is what we are all about

We don't really deny people a whole lot... we just allow people a door into the scene.. most of the artists that start out in purg move on to bigger and better groups.. which kinda sucks.. but hey.. we were here for them when they needed us so its cool

Ok, what is your opion of the scene now, compared to the scene in 95/96?

Tee are
A lot of new people... most of the oldschoolers have moved on.. they might hang out here and there but not alot of them still draw... its cool i guess.. i have more time to hang in the scene now then i did before

What do you think of Black Jack and mimic?

Tee are
Mimic has definite quality.. between mimic and karma i think remorse will fade away eventually..

.. as for blk_jack, well.. he has definitely gotten a lot more ego on his head than he has ever had before... i still talk to him here and there.. we get along... i don't fuck with him and he doesn't fuck with me.. so i can't really say anything bad about him.. he has never really done anything to me...

I know most of the scene hates him right now, but honestly he hasn't done anything to me so i can't hate him ;]

Yeah, now explain why they hate him? They, as in the scene..

From what i hear he has been fucking with a lot of people... i've never seen proof so owell.. its just a part of the scene i guess.. it wouldn't be the scene without someone being fucked with i guess

Yes, very good point. So which do you think is more popular? ansi or ascii these days?

Tee are
I think there is a pretty good mixture but ascii seems to be on top... prolly for the last year or so ascii has been on top.. but ansi seems to be coming on strong again.. it definitely isn't like it used to be though

Yeah i know, i remember i used to draw ansi. but i got tired of it and the ansi people in the ansi part of the scene. so i switched to ascii

It used to be that all ansi artists were anal fucks for awhile... but since #ans came around and no one really hangs in #ansi much anymore.... the artists were pretty cool
