This pack is a bit confusing.
I'm not really sure if it is the old Fuel, in a way it is.
Two of the members, Necro and Lurps, are indeed ex-Fuel
members Necrofiliac and Burps. This group is more of a demo
group, as the pack also shows.
The presentation is excellent,
with the real-time 3D interface and all, a bit of demo coding
there. While it was nice to have a cool interface, in artscene
standards it's taking too much space. The executables and
interface art took well over 2mb!
There are only three artists
represented, but they're all pretty good. It's typical demoscene
art, excellent execution, but not "deep" as in
HRg style.
Kirk has a very consistent
style. I haven't seen much of him and don't know if he's
able to do other kind of pics too, though. The ones in the
pack have a similar theme, a dark and evil motif and brown
colors. They're detailed and sharp, and at the same time
simple and not at all cluttered.
Necro's work are all already
released in iCE (now I understand why his pics are signed
both iCE and Fuel). All except for one pic. It's a fantasy
pic of a girl being chased by a giant spider. If I didn't
know Necro better, I would think it's ripped. But Necro
is good, and probably able to make such art. It's extremely
detailed and look very realistic. A really professional
piece of fantasy art.
Nytrik's work is very good
too, with a lot of detail and very imaginative. I think
they are originally smaller and have been resized, so the
pictures are very blurry. Pity. Otherwise it's just good
pictures.
