-------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: Some of you have already gotten info about this, and some have even signed up for the party already. [http://www.lcp2000.c64.org] THE BASIC IDEA 28-30 july Hack'n Trade will host a full scale C64/Amiga500/GameBoy Color-party aimed at everyone clever enough to appreciate such a thing. All details like Bigscreen and soundsystem is taken care of already, so we suggest you just join us and feel the 8-bit bytes flowing through the air. We've worked hard and succeded in keeping the entrance fee low. DATA pleasure forever! This time around we've rented a little cosy Gymnastics Hall in the central parts of Växjö, Sweden. (Ask for 'Östregårdskolan' to get there) As you might even have been able to figure out yourself, this means for example that there will be showers available for cowards afraid of sweat. Even though there is room for many people the space is not unlimited, so hurry up and contact Frantik/HT and tell him you wanna boogie! Then you're guaranteed to get a place by a table and electricity enough to make your robots run. Please mention how much tablespace you think you'll want to use and we'll do our best to make you satisfied. Contact frantik/ht in one of the following ways: E-mail: mats.andren@mbox309.swipnet.se Phone: +46-(0)470-18186 IRCnet: frantikHT on #c-64 or #cubacola ICQ: I never use it... FEE AND FOOD Maximum 100 SEK, but probably less. We suggest you don't miss such a cheap'n easy opportunity to meet the swedish 8-bit-scene and have a nice time together. Close to the partyplace you'll find a little food shop were you can buy something to eat when you feel hungry. If you wanna have some fancy fastfood, just take a walk down the hill to the central parts of Växjö and you'll find what you need. If you're real hungry it's totally OK to take a bite on yourself. There is also pizza resturants in Växjö which will deliver pizzas to you by car, wherever you are. FUNKY FEATURES Except just being the freshest party for years there will be a huge amount of features that will keep you smiling. Good kung fu-movies/fast audio ction/cubacola+snacks/death defying compos etc. Rumours say there will even be some exclusive live-performances. Time will tell. THE RULES We don't dig rules and stuff, because they're always more silly than they're not. That is of course reason enough for us to be confused big time and skip this whole thing considering rules. Clearly speaking, we don't really have many rules at all. As long as you don't fight, start fires or destroy stuff nothing unpleasant will happen to you. Troublemakers and quakers will however be handed over to ht's deadly russian ninja squad at once. And don't pass 'GO', cause we're the keepers of the unseen universal monopoly of magic fantasy power and our words is the laws of nature and all living beings. Got that? If you didn't, read it over again. Our tears know no end when we're thinking of that we have to admit that people who are creating stuff for GBC actually may bring their PC's. The reason behind this is that some of the nescessary gb-dev utils only exists for the PC at this moment. (This does of course not mean that we want to see people bringing their PC's and running emulators and stuff. Remember, we have ninja spies..) Other people should not bring such a lame machine at all, since it is certainly not what this party is meant for. (Speaking of this GBC-dev-topic: If you are an amigaguy with knowledge in C and some 680x0-asm, then please contact ftk/ht and I'll send you the c-source for the GBX sendutil GBTool 1.5, which shouldn't be too hard to port as it's a ms-dos commandline utility. (The GBX works with parallellports in SPP-mode, so it should work no problemos on the amiga.)) BATTLES FOR REAL MEN Compomachines will be the following: * Commodore 64: (old or new) with a 1541-drive and an Action Replay VI cartridge * GameBoy Color: (with 64Mbit Bung-carts unless you supply something else yourself) * Other 8-bitter ...like ZX Spectrum, C65, ABC80, etc - if you supply the hardware * Amiga 500: (68000, KS 1.3/3.1 with 512Kb chip, 512Kb fast) The default rule is one compo for demos, one for music and one for graphics. When people give us their contributions we'll see what we kind of entries we get most of (like c64-demo or GBC-music etc) and then we'll will have a separate compos for those. Note: We will be able to display gameboy-stuff on bigscreen aswell. Note2: Check the newsflash on http://www.tripmode.com/gbdev/ about some special rules and considerations for GBC-entries. DEMO BATTLE You have to choose one of the following machines to run your demo on: * Commodore 64 * GameBoy Color * Other 8-bitter like ZX Spectrum, c65, ABC80, etc - if you supply the hardware * Amiga 500 MUSIC BATTLE the choices goes something like this: * C64: Executable files only (everything from drive-music to 16ch digimusic is allowed) * GBC: Supply executable ROM-image or cart * Other 8-bitters: Supply the hardware along with executable software * A500: Any exotic amiga-format which is playable in DeliTracker or is an executable file GRAPHICS BATTLE All techniques are allowed, but obvious bites/scans/frauds will be torn apart by furious wild horses. Accepted formats: * C64: Executable (all resolutions and VIC-tweeks allowed) * GBC: Supply executable ROM-image or cart * Other 8-bitters: Supply the hardware along with executable software * A500: IFF image (any PAL OCS/ECS resolution, no AGA) BATTLEMANIA We will have some more original battles both aswell - both computer and non-computer oriented - mr most-unhealthy-looking, gaming (suggest your favourite 2P+ games for compos!) ultimatefighting, burping and so on. We'll come up with more surprisingly annoying battles. PRIZES There will be awesome prizes and awards but don't expect to get lotsa cash or expensive stuff for the winning demo here. OFFICIAL PARTYSITE The official partysite is http://www.lcp2000.c64.org. Expect some updates there soon.
