This does not mean that I worked both day and night to finish it, something that goes for all the pictures which are about to be mentioned. The idea was not taken from any book or anything else, which you probably can see. It turned out quite difficult to read. Not the brightest idea I have ever had actually. The title screen: This is also my own production, apart from some of the idea concerning the picture in the middle. It is possible to find the idea of this picture on an old bookcover drawn as a pencil-sketch. Worktime on this title screen was about one week. This is not exactly one of my best drawings. The scrolling picture: The scrolling picture was also made during one week. I had decided to make this picture for this slideshow a long time ago, but I was not extremely excited by the idea of making it. This seemed like a grand project, and so it was. Therefore I figured out that it might be smart to finish it quickly, so the expression "fed up" never would be appropriate. The first part of this picture is quite nasty in my opinion. Lack of colours was the main problem as it always is when you are drawing sceneries. A frequent problem for me. This is also one of the homemade pictures of mine. Zenith: This picture was originally made by Mark Harrison, but I have given it a touch of my own style. The foreground is added to afterwords in attempt of giving the picture a little more depth. I could have told you a story about this picture, but it would have been too long. It really took me some time to draw this one, about 3,5 weeks. Dreamland: Background-idea and setup by Mark Harrison, my great source of inspiration. This picture was supposed to be for the competition at The Gathering '93, but I chose another one. Worktime estimated up to two weeks. Winterpath: This picture is unfortunately for this slideshow used in a RAW-intro which quite many of you already have seen. Also a picture by Mark Harrison. Even if you do not belive it, the original was quite a nice picture. Worktime: 2 weeks. Orthlund: Yet another picture by Mark Harrison, and the oldest picture in this slideshow. It is responsible for the Amiga 2000 I am writing this text on. It won the first prize at the Rendezvous '92 party. Worktime: 5 days. Encounter: This picture came second at The Party II in Denmark last year. There are a lot of things to improve in this picture which I did not see at the actual time. Of course I will not do anything about it now. Worktime: 4-5 weeks. Another picture which you might have seen before (too bad). Purpleworm: This cliche'-picture competed in the graphics-competition at The Gathering '93, and ended up as it probably deserved - at the fifth place. I think I spent about three weeks in finishing this one. What a waste of time, or what? Fluteplayer: This is, as I write this text, still supposed to be a titlepicture for a Digital musicdisk, therefore the logo in the corner. Everything apart from the character in front is made by me. Worktime: 2-3 weeks. Are you able to spot two trolls hiding in the background? Shelob: This is probably one of my most successful Lo-Res-pictures. The motif is taken from a Tolkien art-book and the original piece is painted by an artist by the name of John Howe. The picture is about a year old and was once meant to be a contribution for the art-gallery in the good-old Stolen Data magazine. Daydreams: Here is Santa smiling to you from his layed back position. Original by Tim Hildebrandt. For me it took about 1,5 weeks to finish it. This was also one of the candidates, together with Purpleworm and Dreamland, to compete for me in the graphics-competition at The Gathering '93. Maybe unfortunately that I did not chose this happy fellow? Soria Moria: This picture was originally painted by Theodor Kittelsen and is called Soria Moria. It took me two days to finish it, and was mainly done because I didn't have any other projects to work on. Smoker: I have been sort of lucky with this picture as I also this year (1993) won the competition at the Rendezvous party. Concerning the picture: It was taken from an old black and white photography which I found in my father's collection of photomagazines. Several things have been changed though. Many ugly details can be spotted in this picture. If you for instance look at some parts of the hat, you will surely see some junky graphics. I think I often get too soon tired of my pictures, and therefore never finish them as I probably should. Depths: This is another picture which was meant to be for the Sequential-demo. As the demo is delayed, I have made a new picture for it. The substitute picture is already finished as I write this. This picture was, by the way, ready around Christmas 1992, and took me about two weeks to complete. Mindriot: This is the only Boris picture in this slideshow. It was developed during approx. a forthnight and has unfortunately been released before, more exactly in the Andromeda demo with the same name. In addition, it won a graphics-competiton organized by a Norwegian computer-magazine called Databladet. The menu: Finally the menu which was drawn in two days. The old man is former President of the USA: Lyndon B. Johnson. This motif is also found as a black and white photography in a photomagazine. Ugly hair though. Last words: Well, that was it concerning the pictures in this slideshow. You have now got a view into my private opinions about my often junky, almost good or not successfull at all graphics. At least you have avoided to see any naked ladies or any copies of Boris Vallejo (except the Mindriot picture). That is at least something that is great about this slideshow.
