1-2-3-GO!  Yes, the second issue of <Fi$h and Chip$> is finally here.. After many delays, hangovers, ups and downs we finally finished it..    The bitches are:    Coding .. Slender! Yeah, it's good to be back again.. Well, we never left (heh), we just took something people usually call 'an ispirational break'. You know, the sun, beach and girls. Oh, we met Lord Helmet on the beach, so if you're looking for the latest issue of R.A.W you better head south (Hint: Somewhere outside Scandinavia!). Ok, better not bore you with any silly stories, although I couln't even remember everything (You know, I'm becoming a bit old.. heh ). Well, nevermind that. Yes, it's the old fart (?) Murk on the keys, I'll be your sex instructor for a while. First of all, a little addition to the note in the beginning. Needless to say, that the same rules apply to everybody, not just PD-Companies and that this production is (c) copyright #ONIC 1993, you're {} allowed to make any changes to this final product and that it should be distributed in its original package (heheh), as an .exe file blah blah.. Sure, now every honest (are there any?) PD company manager will send us lotsa money..     Back to planet earth, and reality. After the last issue we got some complaints about the compability with older modells. Well, this issue should work on all Amigas, also on the AGA machines etc.   Another thing that annoyed several people was that the tunes weren't rippable. Oh well, the were rippable, but I guess there was only one person who knew how to do it (Hi Guru!). Well, what can I say, life's a bitch?! Naw, if you insist on having some of the tunes as mod-files, you should contact your local computer store and ask for a ripper, and if that doesn't work you could always contact some nice Sonic member (Hint: include a small gift!) who maybe will mail you some modules after a few weeks (months?). Needless to say that we won't support any other chippacks  (Yes, I prefer calling them packs, since they are only compilations filled with other musicians' modules). I don't want discuss that subject any further, since it would only cause a lot of angry scrolltexts etc.   A few words about this issue of Fish and Chips..  The design is as usual exclusively made for this issue, the same applies for the code. Some of the modules are almost one year old, but I guess that doesn't matter. This time I wanted to create a design that doesn't look like any other production, and I can say that I'm pleased with the result. I had to finish some of the gfx in a hurry (Like the module names), because of my military service. The first 'part' was also added in a hurry, so it could have been better. Because Slender and I are rather fed up with this production, there are only some usual 'screen clears' instead of some our rather crazy ideas which we planned to include..  There is also a HIDDEN PART! A little hint: You don't have to type anything to enter it.. More hints later on.  Ok, I'm running out of time.. Hope you liked this issue, it took almost 3 months to finish it. The next issue should be released in January/February 94, with a new design from Oxide. One for the A1200, one for the A500 with  FASTMEMORY and one for the standard A500. Many of you may scream WHY THE HECK THREE LINEDRAWERS?!  Well.. It was a bit complex to make this run in one frame in A500 withouth fastmemory, so I had to optimize the linedrawer, but the optimized version didn't work with fastmemory (because it was too slow to wait for the blitter),  so I made a linedrawer which waits for the blitter.  BUT! It didn't work with A1200, because of some bug! Blitter DMA didn't set the blitterbusy flag right after BLTSIZE was written?!? Well, now this works *correctly* with an A1200, and should work with 030 and 040 too.
